"My Grandmothers' Ghost's" is a story about a modern woman navigating unexpected loss and overwhelming grief, and her search for physical and emotional recovery. She finds her own strength and resilience when she discovers the surprising journeys of her own female ancestors. Think 'modern life' meets 'family saga'!
While this is a work of fiction, many of the characters are loosely based on my own ancestors. Like the woman in this photo, holding my father! She is the inspiration for my character of Rose, a farm wife who discovers an unusual way to help keep the family farm going during rough times. And the girl on the right, my Aunt Leona... famous in our family, and now a central character in this book. While these aren't their exact stories, their tremendous kindness and determination to make meaning of their lives earned them their place in this tale.
"Forgetting Andrew"
My first book is a story about my own life, where names and places have been changed to protect the innocent, and some 'not so'. It's a story about how life twists and turns into places we never expect. A journey that explores relationships that build us, nurture us, break us, and sometimes - magically transform us.
"Cancel your weekend plans.Once you have Tia Finn's 'Forgetting Andrew' in your hands, all you will want to do is read. Elaine is my new heroine. And Andrew? Don't let the title fool you. He's unforgettable." JENA SCHWARTZ, Author "Why I Was Late For Our Meeting"
